Belinda Hammond
Nursery Manager
Hello, I’m Belinda and I am the Manager here at Busy Bees at York. I have worked in early year’s childcare for 30 years running a very successful local Pre-School and gaining a wealth of experience and knowledge, along with bringing up 2 children of my own.
In 2007 I joined Busy Bees, working in the Pre-School room. I became assistant manager in 2010 and was very happy to take over as Manager in 2012.
I was honoured to be awarded Manager of the year in 2015 out of 340 nurseries.
Over the past years I have gained a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, plus BSC 1 in Health and safety at work along with Advanced Paediatric and First aid at work.
Erica Smallwood
Assistant Manager
I am the assitant manager and Health and safety coordinator in nursery, I joined Busy Bees in 2006 following my career as a Secondary School Music Teacher. During this time I have worked in all of the under three's rooms before becoming the Senior Room Manager in the baby Room. I am enthusiastic and enjoy supporting my team to deliver high quality childcare in the room.
Assistant Manager

Wendy Buckle
Room Manager
Wendy has worked for Busy Bees since September 2003 and I is currently the room manager in Pre School. she is also the nursery SENCO and Behaviour Management Coordinator. During her time with us Wendy has gained a degree in Family Support at Leeds University, Paediatric first aid and First aid at work plus level 2 in Food Safety.
In her SENCO roll Wendy supports parents with any worries or concerns they have regarding their child's development and behaviour.
Room Manager

Cheryl Flintoff
Room Manager
Cheryl Joined Busy Bees in March 2001 and is the senior room manager in the toddler room. She holds a NNEB Diploma along with a Level 3 certificate in Principles of Management, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and Food safety level 2 plus.
Cheryl is also the Early Years Foundation Stage Coordinator and training mentor within the setting.

Julie Williamson
Early Years Professional
Julie has worked with young children for over 20 years and is a mum of four grown up children, so she has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Julie joined Busy Bees in October 2012 and has worked in the toddler room during this time. She holds a certificate in paediatric first aid and a level 2 in food safety.

James Munger
Chef
James joined in in September 2014 as our nursery chef. He is responsible for ordering and preparing the delicious fresh food served to all of the children in nursery. James holds a level 3 award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering.

Sophie Ellis
Qualified Early Years Educator
Sophie joined us in July 2013, she is a mum of one and holds a level 3 qualification in childcare and during her time at Busy Bees Sophie has progressed to the position of room manager in our pre-toddler baby room.

Bethany Lamb joined us in 2014 after completing her level 3 in childcare at York college. Beth is currently studying for her level 5 qualification.
