Children at Busy Bees Arrowe Park can now enjoy alfresco learning in all weathers, thanks to the installation of a shade canopy.

Investment in facilities at the Woodchurch nursery has seen upgraded garden equipment and the creation of a new area specifically for under-2s to enable the children to benefit from outdoor exploration and play all year round.

Centre Director Nicola Ellis said: “Outdoor play is a key part of life at Busy Bees, giving our children the freedom to explore nature and learn about the world around them.

“The improvements to our garden here at Arrowe Park include refurbished grass areas and new fencing as well as lots of new equipment, offering a much bigger safe learning environment for our children.

“We have also created new designated areas for focused learning, such as a small forest school area for investigating nature and the addition of the shade canopy means we can spend even more time out in the fresh air, whatever the weather.”

Busy Bees Arrowe Park, on Church Lane, provides early years childcare and education for up to 105 babies, toddlers and pre-school children.

Nicola, who has more than a decade of experience as an early years educator, joined Busy Bees Arrowe Park as centre director two years ago.

She added: “We have a very knowledgeable and skilled team here at the nursery, with many longstanding staff complemented by our two apprentices who are supported in their career development by the Busy Bees training team.

“Together we ensure that we deliver on the pledge to give every Busy Bees child the best start in life.”

Busy Bees was founded in Lichfield in 1983 to provide high quality childcare for local families.

Over the past 40 years the organisation has grown to over 390 nurseries across the UK and Ireland – and extended into Australia, New Zealand, North America and Asia, caring for more than 85,000 children around the world.
