We are thrilled to announce that Busy Bees has been recognised as one of the country’s Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers for the second year running, rising six places up the national rankings to 13th.

As the UK’s biggest provider of early years care and education, Busy Bees operates more than 370 nurseries across the UK and currently employs around 1,200 apprentices.

The annual Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers rankings is designed to showcase the very best of England’s apprenticeship employers, with those listed recognised for providing successful apprenticeship programmes over the last 12 months. Busy Bees was named at 19th place in 2022.

Busy Bees Chief People Officer Charlotte Hutchings said: “For 40 years, Busy Bees has been committed to giving children the best start in life, but we can only achieve this through ongoing investment in people who share our goal.

“Apprenticeships are integral to our business, enabling us to bring in new people who share our values and want to make a real difference to children’s lives. In return, we offer a comprehensive training programme, competitive pay and market-leading benefits, and the promise of a long-term satisfying career.”

Anthony Bromirski, Chief Executive of Busy Bees Education and Training, added: “We believe working in the early years sector requires world-class professionals, which is why we are so committed to increasing our high-quality apprenticeship training at all levels.

“As an established training provider, we have almost two decades of experience in delivering apprenticeships that support the growth and sustainability of the sector, and we are so proud of the contribution that our apprentices make to Busy Bees.

“We are thrilled to have risen 6 places to 13th in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers ranking, underlining our commitment to creating high quality career opportunities for apprentices of all ages.”

With apprentice roles available at Busy Bees’ centres across the UK, successful candidates will have the chance to work towards a Level 2, 3 or 5 apprenticeship across the Early Years sector, whilst also gaining practical experience in creating a happy and safe environment in which children can play and learn.

Lauren Leachman is just completing her Senior Production Chef Level 3, based at the Busy Bees Farnborough Q nursery. The 27-year-old has appreciated being able to earn and learn at the same time during her apprenticeship, and the support she has received from Busy Bees.

“I wasn’t really sure I would be able to complete the course, but my development coach Simon Hart and manager Jo McGowan have been so reassuring and supportive,” said Lauren. “I’ve enjoyed the experience of coming back to learning, it has refreshed my brain and I’ve even managed to pass my Maths, which I never thought I would.

“I had previous roles in hospitality but working in the nursery is such a wholesome and rewarding job. Providing healthy and nutritious meals is key, as these children are our future. I am proud to be able to go home every day knowing I have done the best I can do and made a difference.”
