Praise All Around from Ofsted - Busy Bees Emersons Green Recognised for Warm and Inclusive Care

Busy Bees Emersons Green in Bristol, where children feel ‘safe, secure and emotionally supported’ has been praised by Ofsted in its latest inspection. 

Achieving an ‘Strong Standard’ in ‘Inclusion’ and an ‘Expected Standard’ across all other categories, the nursery team was recognised for forming ‘warm and trusting relationships’ with the children who arrive ‘happy and settle quickly’ at nursery. 

Located on St Lukes Close, inspectors noted that staff act as ‘positive role models to children’ supporting and encouraging their development. Babies benefit from a ‘nurturing environment where they ‘cuddle into staff and enjoy singing songs and looking at books together’ whilst older children demonstrate confidence and curiosity as they build on their knowledge and skills ready for school.

Centre Director at Busy Bees Emersons Green, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our Ofsted result! It is a wonderful recognition of the caring, nurturing environments we strive to create for children every day. We are incredibly proud to know that the children in our care are exactly where they should be – in a warm, supportive environment where they feel safe, supported and valued.”

Inspectors also applauded the nursery’s strong partnership with parents, who spoke positively about the support their children receive and ‘the continuity of care between home and the nursery’. Children’s wellbeing was also highlighted by Ofsted, with staff celebrating children’s individuality by learning about their backgrounds and cultures, helping the children to feel valued and understood.

The nursery was praised for its Bee Curious curriculum, which was noted for creating experiences and planned opportunities for all areas of learning. The team’s interactions were described as ‘warm and supportive’, with staff introducing new vocabulary and extending conversations to support children’s communication and language skills.
