The benefit of outdoor play is well documented and we are particularly proud of the large garden and varied play equipment. All age groups have direct access into the garden and separate areas for messy play activity

Busy Bees at Bridgend is a Children’s Day Nursery situated on Broadlands housing estate.
We provide quality childcare for children aged 8weeks-8years.
We have a beautiful purpose built nursery that has recently been refurbished, with ten fun and exciting rooms for the children.
The nursery is divided into 10 rooms each of these have a Rm 8 (Busy Butterflies) caters for children aged 2.5 years-3 years. dedicated age reange within them, Rms1-3 (crawling caterpillars) caters for children aged 8 weeks-14mths, Rms 4-6(Little Ladybirds) caters for children aged 14mths-2years. Rms 7 (Wiggly Worms) caters for children aged 2-2.5 years, We also have a fantastic Preschool unit called Queen Bees, which caters for children between 3-5years. We follow the foundation phase curriculum here at Bridgend and we are inspected by Estyn (Welsh Education Authority) All practitioners have a sound knowledge of the curriculum. Children are encouraged to free flow daily between indoors and outside, we have a large outdoor area which has recently been refurbished so that the children can access this in all weathers. Physical development is extremely important to the children’s overall development.
At Busy Bees Bridgend the children have not only their focused activites but also a variety of exclusive initiatives created by Busy Bees. We have Busy Babies which uses everyday objects in high contrasting tones to encourage babies to reach and explore. Areas rich in high quality displays are necessary to promote babies visual and physical development.
We have Wake and Shake which is a dance activity for children 2-5 years, this is a daily activity that is fun and enhances child development
Shake and Write is a daily activity where children get to use their fine motor skills whilst listening and engaging in musical story. We are also now launching Babble to Chatter which promotes and encourages speech/language, expressive language, play and interaction.
We have a star studded team at the nursery with fantastic qualifications and a wealth of experience. We have Kenny Churchill our Paralympian who has won several gold medals and is responsible for the nursery sports activities. Robert Clowes is an ex member of the Welsh Band DV8 and had a welsh language number one hit and has toured Europe and North America. All of our staff are exceptionally dedicated.

Meet the Team
My name is Ceri Kinsey and I am the Nursery Manager here at Bridgend. I have worked for the nursery since 2004.
I started in a Supervisory role as Nursery Nurse for the Baby unit, before working my way up through the company to my current position as Nursery Manager.
I have a Cache Diploma in Early Childhood Studies , NVQ LEVEL 2 IN Team Leading , NVQ Level 4 in Childcare Learning and Development and Management.
My Name is Jacqueline Morgan I have worked for Busy Bees for almost 10 years. I am the Deputy manager I have a little boy called James who is 18mths old. I am the health and safety coordinator for the nursery and I have a Cache Diploma level 3 and Level 5 in Childcare and Education.

My Name is Leanna Crumbie I am the Supervisory Nursery and I have worked for Busy Bees for 10 years, I have a Cache Diploma in childcare and I have a level 5 in childcare and development. I have a little girl called Lilah who also comes to nursery.

My name is Jodie and I am the Supervisory Nursery nurse for Busy Bees. I have worked for the nursery since 2005. I have a Cache Diploma in childcare and education. I have a little girl called Elsie who also come to nursery.
My name is Roband I am the room leader for the pre-school unit, I have worked for worked for Busy Bees for 4 years and have a great deal of experience working with the children 2 years and over, I have a musical background and I plan all the creative movement sessions in the nursery. I am responsible for the foundation phase unit and bring a great deal of Knowledge and experience to the nursery, I am an extremely energetic member of staff. I have a level 3 qualification in childcare.
I have worked at the nursery for 7 years where I achieved my NVQ Level 3 in Childcare. I am based in the free flow unit with ages 15 months to 2 years.

I have been working with children in a Childcare setting for 11 years. I have worked for Busy Bees for 8 years and am currently based in the pre-school room where we implement the Foundation Phase. I have my NVQ Level 3 in Childcare. I have a daughter aged 1 years who attends the nursery.
My name is Jan and I am the nursery cook and I have worked for Busy Bees for 4 years.I have a level 3 in food hygiene and I prepare nutritious meals for the children. I carryout all cooking activities for the children which I really enjoy doing I also enjoy teaching the children about foods for all around the world.
I have worked at the nursery for 2 years. I work in room 7 with ages 2 to 2 and half years old. I have worked in childcare for 10 years, 3 of which was in kindergarten in Denmark. I have a bachelorâ€™s degree from Denmark in Childcare and Social Education and 3 years Diploma in Counselling and Leadership. Whilst being in the United Kingdom I achieved an NVQ in Childcare.
I have worked at the nursery for 2 years. I have a Level 3 in Childcare and have experience of working with children for 21 years. I have 4 children. I have been a Paralympic athlete for 20 years where I won 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze in Javelin and Shot-put.
I have worked at the nursery for 4 years where I gained my CACHE Level 3 in Childcare. I am not based in any particular room; I help out in all different rooms around the nursery. I have a 13 months little girl who attends the nursery, she enjoys her time at nursery so much itâ€™s a struggle to get her home.
My name is Sophie I have worked in the nursery for over a year now but also did my placement there and loved it. I have a level 2 in childcare and am currently working towards my level 3.

My Name is Miranda French I am 37 year old fulltime working mum of two beautiful girls. My Eldest is Felicity ans she is 8 years old and my youngest is Annabel. I am a Policy and Public Affairs Manager for a national Charity called Bridgend Coalition of Disabled People and a Board Director for Able Radio which is a national radio station based in Pontypool, providing a voice for Disabled people. We live locally and both girls have benefited from childcare provided by staff at Busy Bees Nursery.
Verity started her beautiful little girl with us in January 2014, Verity is a new member to our Parent Partnership Group and would be happy to offer feedback and information about the nursery to any new or prospective parents. We feel that this is extremely valuable as it gives a parents view of nursery life and hopefully be able to put any worries to rest.
