Our Busy Bees nursery in Chelmsford, on Springfield Road offers the perfect environment for your child to learn, develop and thrive during their stay at nursery, with the wide range of fantastic facilities on offer.  

There are endless opportunities for your little one to reach their full potential at our nursery in Chelmsford, with the additional extracurricular activities available included in the fees you pay. With something for every child to enjoy, we provide sports and yoga sessions for toddlers and preschoolers, along with sing and sign sessions for children of all ages! 

Within our Foundation Class, we are lucky enough to have a Spanish speaking staff member who provides Spanish lessons, giving children the opportunity to learn a new skill and use it on a daily basis. 

Our dedicated team are passionate about providing every child with the best start in life and will support your child throughout each stage of their development. To help track your child’s development, they will be appointed with a key person who will provide you with regular updates via the ‘ParentZone’ app.

Car Parking
We offer ample parking on-site for your safety and convenience.

Our nursery is fitted with CCTV for the safety and security of our team and the children in our care.

Our entrance ways are fitted with an intercom system and all access points are safe and secure.

Nappies and Wipes inclusive
Fees are all-inclusive to include nappies and wipes.

Formula Milk provided
Fees are inclusive to include formula milk if required.

Meals and Snacks Provided
All meals, drinks and snacks are prepared on-site by our chef and are NHS accredited.

Outdoor Facilities
Our outdoor environment offers space to explore and take safe risks with the support of our team, aiding child development.

Sensory Room
Our Sensory Room is a relaxing space providing a unique sensory experience with activities and equipment to explore, engaging and stimulating children’s senses.

Parent Room
Our parent room is a dedicated safe space for us to get to know your family and you to speak in confidence with our nursery team about your child's nursery life.

Smart Board
Our Interactive Smart Board is used daily to bring learning to life and provides children with a hands-on approach with technology.

Funded Childcare
We offer government funded places for children aged 2 to 4 years, please speak to the Centre Director for more information.

We have a fully qualified Teacher in our pre-school room who delivers exciting learning opportunities, whilst ensuring statutory and legal welfare requirements are met for every child.

Foundation Class
The foundation class nurtures each child's natural curiosity within a structured framework providing pre-school children with an early introduction to school life.

We keep families informed through ParentZone, an online learning journal platform, which can be accessed via a smartphone app.

Exclusive to Busy Bees, UP is a learning and development app used by educators in our nursery and parents at home. Search ‘UP by Busy Bees’ on the app store to find out more.

We offer online booking for extra ad-hoc sessions at this nursery with Pebble.

Food at Busy Bees Springfield

We understand the importance of making sure children get the right nourishment to support good growth and development. At our Chelmsford nursery, children receive all meals, drinks, and snacks as part of the fees you pay.   

The menus work on a week-by-week basis and are varied and changed seasonally. Does your child have any specific dietary requirements or allergies? Get in touch with the Centre Director - who will be happy to discuss other safe alternatives for your child.   

Get a taste of what your child could expect to eat while at our nursery in Chelmsford: 


Fresh fruit with a selection of cereal or porridge.   

Morning Snack 

Fresh fruit with wholemeal toast or baked goods, with a drink of milk or water.  


Cream cheese pinwheel followed by beef/turkey or lentils in gravy with new potatoes and broccoli, with a drink of water.   

Afternoon Snack 

Fresh fruit or vegetable sticks with a drink of milk or water.   

Early Evening Snack  

Chef’s daily special, with a drink of water.

Did you know Busy Bees also offers government-funded childcare? If eligible, you could be entitled to up to 570 or 1140 hours of funded childcare, depending on your eligibility and your child's age, each year for your child. Preparing for School

In order to best prepare the children for the next big chapter of their lives, Busy Bees do all that they can to support and celebrate the transition. All of the planned activities and experiences which take place within our Busy Bees Nursery in Chelmsford are designed to provide a foundation of skills that will help them grow in becoming confident and capable learners.

Busy Bees Nursery Chelmsford Location

You will find our nursery in Chelmsford, located on Springfield Road just a 5-minute drive from the city centre. Rest assured, with our large onsite car park, drop-offs and collections will be as safe and seamless as possible.  

With excellent transport links for those arriving via public transport, there is a train station just a 20-minute walk from the nursery, along with a bus stop a short walk away on Brookhurst Close serving routes C8 and 73.  

Arriving on foot? We have a buggy store onsite, where you can securely leave buggies and pushchairs during your child's stay at nursery.
