Our nursery is designed to care and educate children aged 3 month to 5 years. We are located near to transport links for both local and city commutes into London. With our extended opening hours, and accessible parking for drop off and collections Parent are able to use the nursery complimenting their work or family arrangements.
The nursery has onsite catering facilities with a Head and Assistant Chef. All our meals and snacks including the baby purees are cooked fresh each day. Our Kitchen holds grade 5 for Food safety which has been awarded by the local environmental health inspection team. We are proud to have maintained this high level of food safety for the past 7 years. Farringtons is also one of the nurseries carefully selected to stand as a “Centre of Excellence in Catering”, a status devised by Busy Bees to represent the finest standards in catering for children. Ofsted report comments “High quality meals and snacks ensure children eat well and parents also contribute their ideas through food tasting sessions.”
We are passionate at providing the best possible start for children and their families. Our recent Ofsted report from April 2013 grades the nursery as GOOD in all areas and comments” Good monitoring of the educational programmes ensure the staff team are confident in delivering a broad range of experiences that help children to make progress.” We also completed the NDNA e-Quality counts accreditation in April 2012 and were awarded with a Level 2 (Silver). We are proud of our achievements and are working towards our next inspection with our aim to achieve an outstanding judgement.
Our Parent Partnership Group has been established now for seven years and supports the nursery in making improvements, new ideas or supporting new parents into the nursery. This group is something all parents are free to join. We pride ourselves based on the fantastic relationships with parents and extended families. Ofsted says “Parents at the inspection comment how much their children love going to nursery” and “staff go the extra mile and nothing is too much trouble”.
“Sending your child to nursery is such a big decision to make & I have never for one second regretted my decision to send my daughter to Busy Bees. The team are fantastic & my little girl views them as extended family members. Busy Bees offers a wide & varied curriculum for her & the monthly activity plans mean I feel fully engaged in what she's up to, while I'm not around as well as offering ideas for us to do together at home. The extra curriculum activities offered are also great & the menu offered at meal times extensive” Lynsey Moscow nursery parent and Parent Partnership Representative.
We have a very dedicated and hard working team which consists of experience and highly skilled individuals with over 70% either NVQ level 3 trained or NVQ level 2 qualified. . We encourage all our staff to take up every training opportunity and are currently supporting several staff to complete the NVQ 3 in childcare. Our staff team are long serving with over 55% being employed for over 3 years and 42% employed for over 4 years. This low level of staff turn over has enabled us to grow a strong, successful and professional team.
Ofsted say “staffs know children well, which helps children to make good progress. Staff identify area where children need extra support and organise a programme, working with parents, to focus on specific areas for development, thus organising activities to meet children’s individual learning needs”.
Throughout the week key staff plan and provide for our children a fun, stimulating and safe environment in which they will learn and develop new skills as the grow. We also have an excellent range of extra curricular activities which parent can choose for their children to take part in.
