Why You Will Love Our Nursery

Our Corby nursery is an impressive purpose built building designed for use as a children’s day care facility. It is situated close to the town on Oakley Vale and is a 5 minute car ride from the train station and also on the rail and local bus routes.

We have a strong consistent staff team here at Corby who are extremely passionate about what they do. 95% of the staff have a level three qualification or above. We provide lots of on-going training to support and develop out staff and to keep up to date with current legislation further to ensure we are giving the best possible start for all children in our care.

We have 2 members of staff at the nursery who will be starting their degree in early years and will use their knowledge gained from this in their practice.

As a team we are passionate about providing stimulating learning opportunities, each child's learning journal shows their current interests and achievements with photos and observations which promote the developmental stages and interest of each individual child

The nursery has 3 core rooms namely the baby unit (0-2 years) with a dedicate milk kitchen, sleeping area and separate nappy changing room. Our Toddler unit (2-3 years) with its own nappy change room and bathroom and finally our pre-school unit (3-5) with its own bathroom.
Each room is equipped with a wide selection of age appropriate resources, toys and learning materials. Rooms have easy access to our garden and the pre-school room can enjoy free flow thus encouraging their independence.

We offer a large newly transformed nursery garden with a separate area for the under 3’s. There are different areas for the children to explore and expand their learning such as a builders imaginative play area, 2 sand pits one shaded from the sun, a water pump, outdoor cosy area and a variety of different plants. There is also a raised gazebo area allowing all children access to shade and to interact with younger/older children under supervised conditions.

Why not come along and have a look at what we have to offer.

We promote inclusive practice and encourage children to be independent and make choices of their own.

Meet the Team

Nursery Manager

I first started working at the Corby site in 2006 and have been in the Managers post since 2011. Like myself, some of my team have also seen their own children progress and develop into confident little people whilst attending our very own setting,
With over 13 years’ experience in the child care industry I am a highly motivated professional who is committed to offering high quality child care. I hold a level 3 Diploma in child care and education and also a NVQ 4 in child care which I gained whilst working as a deputy manager. I continue to attend relevant child care courses to enhance and increase my knowledge with the most recent course being the Northamptonshire Baby Room Project and the new EYFS course and first aid at work.

I have two young children of my own, , my eldest has attend from babies through to going to school and she has enjoyed her time and experiences at nursery and I feel that this definitely helped her to prepare for school and made the transition easy.
My youngest currently attends in the first steps unit and has developed and gained some very valuable skills since starting nursery. She has a very close bond to her key worker which really helps when leaving her during the day knowing that she is happy and settled.

I am passionate about working in childcare as every day brings you new challenges and joy, you see the children learn and practice new skills though fun activities. We enjoy building positive relationships with the parents and children and always like to get everyone involved in events and activities

Parent Partnership Group

Parent Representatives for Busy Bees at Corby

Emma Parish

Hi my name is Emma and i am mummy to 4 year old Tyler and 16 month old Tate. Tyler has attend Busy Bees nursery Corby since he was 18 months old as we relocated to the area from Surrey. i was very nervous and anxious about leaving him in a different environment but all the staff made me and Tyler feel very welcome. Tate started the nursery at 8 months old and as he was very clingy to me attending nursery has really helped him become more social and settled.

"I am very pleased to be part of the parent partnership group and as i have 2 children of different ages who attend the nursery i have been through all the different transitions. Tyler will be starting school in September so this will be another mile stone we will be going through with him and the nursery and i am looking forward to doing it all again with Tate.If you have any questions or would just like a chat please feel free to contact me."

Jess Atkinson

Hi, I'm Jess mummy to twins Finlay and Chloe who are 21 months old. They have been attending the nursery since they were 8 months old, 3 days per week. I was very anxious about leaving them at first as most parents are, however the friendly staff made us very welcome and they soon settled in. Chloe was a particular worry as she was a shy little girl at first but has developed into such a happy, clever and content child as has Finlay and we do believe Busy Bees played a big part in this.

"I'm delighted to be part of the parent partnership group and as a working mum i understand the feelings involved in leaving your child(ren) in order to return to work. Finlay and Chloe will soon be approaching 2 and we will be going through the room transition part of nursery and i already have had a lot of support from the staff with this. Although they have already started potty training this will be a new chapter for us all.. Should you need support or a friendly chat please get in touch."

Jody Watt

Hi, my name is Jody, i am a mummy to Finlay who is one year old. Finlay has been attending the Busy Bees nursery full time since he was 6 months old. I was very apprehensive about leaving him at such a young age, however, the friendly staff at Busy Bees made Finlay very welcome and he soon settled in. Finlay can be a quite shy little boy, but he has developed into such a happy, clever and contented child, to which we believe is thanks to the wonderful staff at Busy Bees at Corby.

"i am pleased to be part of the parent partnership group here at Corby. As a full time working parent i understand the emotions of leaving your child(ren) whilst having to go to work. I hope that should you need to talk to someone who has been there, i can help you feel more at ease. My little boy will soon be approaching 2 and will then be moving to the toddler room, and being introduced to potty training. Should you need support in any areas please do not hesitate to contact me. Regards Jody"
