Castle View is a bright, spacious nursery, purpose built for 89 children. Castle View is situated in a lovely quiet location close to Pitreavie Castle and a short hop to the M90 motorway. The surrounding woodland provides a sanctuary for wildlife and an opportunity for learning. Our opening hours are from 7.15 am to 6.00 pm and we care for children from the age of six weeks until they go to school.
At Castle View Nursery we offer a safe, friendly atmosphere where children can experience a variety of stimulating and exciting activities to suit their individual needs. The building is bright and roomy and all facilities are accessible to the children. Outside there is a safe, enclosed garden which offers everyone the opportunity to gain access from all rooms in all weathers.
Castle View’s purpose built facilities are split into four separate age groups. Our Discoverer room is a soft, snuggly room were we look after our youngest children from birth to around 15 months. Children in the Discoverers room get a large number of sensory experiences, they also get to form relationships with our excellent Discoverers staff team, make new friends and generally roll around in our comfortable, relaxed environment.
Our Explorer age group are a curious bunch who are aged between 15 and 24 months. The Explorers spend much of their time exploring sensory activities with their friends and investigating a wide range of activities aimed at developing their exploration and curiosity of their surroundings. As with all our play rooms the Explorers have direct access to their very own garden.
Our Investigators are aged between 2 and 3 years. The Investigators is a busy room where the children can access a broad range of opportunities to develop their confidence, independence and friendships. As well as their outdoor space within the nursery grounds the Investigators also spend time in our forest school provision in a secluded, wooded area close to the nursery building.
Our Inventors age group are busy spending much of their day developing their confidence, self esteem and independence getting them ready to make the transition to school. Our programme of activities follows the Curriculum for Excellence where we focus on developing children’s skills in literacy and numeracy and their health and well being. The inventors have access to a variety of rooms and areas within the nursery as well as their spacious outdoor space.
Within the central area of our nursery we have a spacious dining area for the children to enjoy healthy, nutritious snacks and meals cooked by our Chef. Our kitchen has an excellent track record of passing environmental health inspections and has recently been accredited with an EatSafe award. As you would expect all meals and snacks are provided by us and included in the cost of your childcare – we can even accommodate children with cultural and dietary requirements.
Our excellent staff team all hold relevant qualifications and have a breadth of different experience within childcare settings. As part of our balanced curriculum we enjoy weekly visits from a visiting teachers who include music and karate teacher. Castle View also boasts an active parent partnership group who help us to evaluate and improve your nursery.
