Choosing a nursery is a big step, and at Busy Bees at Ely, we want every family to feel welcome from the moment they walk through our doors.

Established for more than 20 years, we’re proud to have supported generations of local families. Our warm, nurturing environment helps every child feel valued, build confidence and enjoy learning through play as they grow.

Busy Bees
Ely
Nursery Facilities

Located in the historic Old School House on Downham Road, Busy Bees at Ely offers a warm, family-focused environment where children can feel safe, settled and supported. Our experienced team has built lasting relationships with local families over more than 20 years, and many of our practitioners have been part of our nursery family for years, providing children with familiar faces and consistent care.

We’re proud to have achieved three consecutive Outstanding Ofsted inspections, followed more recently by a Strong standard across all areas under the new Ofsted inspection framework. These achievements reflect our team's ongoing commitment to high-quality early years education, care and positive outcomes for children.

Our six age-specific rooms provide spaces tailored to the changing needs of babies, toddlers and preschoolers, supporting children as they develop new skills and prepare for their next steps. With smaller group sizes and dedicated spaces, our practitioners can build strong relationships with each child and tailor learning experiences to their individual interests and needs.

Outdoor learning is an important part of everyday life at Ely. Our five dedicated gardens give children space to explore, discover and learn throughout the year, with a large canopy offering extra shelter in different weather conditions. Children can also help grow vegetables in our garden, learning about nature and where food comes from, including harvesting produce with our nursery chef.

Through our Bee Curious curriculum, we encourage children to follow their interests, ask questions and discover the world around them. Every day brings new opportunities to play, explore and grow in a nurturing environment where each child’s individual journey is celebrated.

We’d love to show you what makes Busy Bees at Ely so special. Book a visit to explore our nursery, meet our friendly team and discover how we can support your little one’s learning and development.

Giving your child the best start in life

Our Bee Curious curriculum is at the heart of everything we do, helping your child grow in a safe and nurturing environment.

Centred around your child's interests and pace, we combine purposeful play with a carefully designed curriculum that fosters curiosity and confidence. Bee Curious guides every moment in our nursery, from caring routines to planned activities, placing the unique child and their key person at the heart of learning. From encouraging independence at mealtimes, to supporting friendships in the playground, to celebrating every milestone with enthusiasm, our curriculum sparks a love of learning from the very beginning.
