Welcome to our nursery…
At Treetops Gloucester Day Nursery and Preschool we absolutely love to play, create and educate together.
We know how important your child’s safety, development and preschool education is to you. That’s why every child at Treetops Gloucester is assigned their very own key carer to ensure that we can provide you and your little ones with continuous assessment and the very best in quality childcare.
Quality City Centre Childcare
Treetops Gloucester Day Nursery and Preschool enjoys a fabulous city centre location just off Denmark Road and close to the historic Gloucester Cathedral.
We are conveniently located for the city centre, accessible on foot in under 20 minutes. We enjoy good transport links with local bus routes stopping nearby and Gloucester mainline railway station is approximately 4 minutes-drive with Arriva Trains Wales, GWR, London Midland and Cross Country services.
Our sizeable, multi-storey, converted house has a lovely refurbed garden area and a compact driveway ideal for swift drop-offs and pick-ups.
We are the only nursery in the area with an early 7am start.
At Treetops Gloucester Day Nursery and Preschool we work hard to create a warm, loving environment for all of our children. We know how important choosing the right nursery is and we like to think that our nursery and preschool are an extension of your home and family.
We enjoy spacious rooms for creative child-led play and our ample size means we are fortunate to enjoy additional dedicated spaces like a preschool learning hub, dining room and arts and crafts room.
Our self-contained baby room has been styled to feel just like a homely lounge or living room, complete with all of the creature comforts you might expect at home. We include sofas, rugs, fireplaces and coffee tables and family photographs and soft furnishings to create a welcoming and familiar environment to make the transition from home to nursery a smooth one.
All of our children enjoy access to a spacious outdoor area with brand new mud kitchen and large built-in sand pit. We also recognise the importance of integrating our children into the community and take the children on outings to local parks including Pitville Park and nearby hops and attractions.
We also offer parent workshops and extra-curricular activities like Music with Mummy and Sporty Little Stars, multi-sports coaching designed to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
Preparing for Big School
Here at Treetops Gloucester we divide our children into 4 key age and stage-appropriate rooms, tailoring activities and a curriculum in line with the EYFS statutory framework to the needs of each individual child.
As children move from each of our rooms they begin to grow in confidence developing new skills to help them deal with the challenges they will face at school.
Play continues to be a key part of the learning process for our preschool children but we begin to introduce a little more routine into their everyday lives, exposing them to the structure they can expect in a school classroom. We build on their early literacy and mathematics learnings, teaching letters and sounds, helping them to write their own names and embedding numbers into our daily activities. We also offer weekly Spanish lessons as an extra-curricular activity.
We work closely with local schools to begin the transition process for our preschool children. Many of our children go on to Kingsholm CE Primary School, Gloucester, St Peters Catholic Primary School, Gloucester, Longlevens Infant School, Gloucester and Elmbridge Infant School, Gloucester. We are also building links with Longford Park Primary Academy opening in 2017.
