Why You Will Love Our Nursery

Busy Bees in Ipswich provides GOOD childcare, as reported by Ofsted, (2013)

At Busy Bees in Rushmere we are a purpose built nursery which offers 6 warm nurturing rooms for children aged 0-2years, 2 bright stimulating toddler rooms and 2 exciting pre-school rooms perfect for preparing each individual child for school. Each area of the nursery has a messy room, play room and quiet area. This gives the children the opportunity to make choices with what they would like to do at the nursery.

We are situated just a short distance off the A12 and A14 and are fairly central between Ipswich and Woodbridge situated on the Bixley farm estate opposite the One Stop and Taste of India. Our own private car park makes dropping off and picking up your children stress free.

We have 3 outdoor areas for all age groups to enjoy. The gardens are full of exciting opportunities for the children to explore, from climbing areas on our wooden amphitheatre where the children pretend it is an airport to riding on our train to go to Felixstowe. The benefit of outdoor play is well documented and we are particularly proud of our large garden and play equipment. Preschool even have their own garden corner, where they learn about growing their own snacks to taste and explore.

The nursery is open 7.30am and closes at 6.00pm, we have a morning session which runs between 7.30am and finishes at 12.30pm and an afternoon session which runs from 1pm until 6pm. We also offer Free entitlement sessions for children the term after their third birthday.
Amanda our amazing nursery cook makes the tastiest and healthy nutritional meals which are included at no extra charge and are freshly prepared and served daily.

Our caring, qualified and enthusiastic staff strives to ensure each individual child is happy, well cared for and supported in moving forward in their learning. They are mostly qualified to level 3 with 3 staff qualified to level 4. The staff works closely with parents to build on parent partner relationships from the first settling in sessions to their child’s last day at nursery where tissues are at the ready. We are bubbly and welcoming and always involve parents where possible. We have a parent partnership group set up which gives us feedback on what parents like from our setting and the opportunity to give any ideas that may be useful to us.

Meet the Team

Zoe Brooks

Nursery Manager

Zoe Brooks -  Nursery Manager.

I was thrilled to join Busy Bees Children's Day Nurseries in May 2015 after a background of working in smaller independent Nurseries in Suffolk.

I live locally to the Ipswich Rushmere Nursery and have a busy family life with three teenage children, a dog, cat and two rabbits and absolutely love managing my Busy Bees Nursery.  What could be more rewarding than supporting a fantastic team of staff, being involved in the early care and education of all children and working in partnership with parents/families?

My career in childcare began in 2003 when I became a child minder after struggling with the juggle of full time work and three children.  Once my youngest child was established at school I knew that a return to a traditional office was not for me, that I was well and truly committed to improving outcomes for all children and so I started working at a local Nursery as a practitioner, moving into Management soon afterwards.

I am qualified to Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, hold a Level 4 Special Educational Needs and Disability qualification, a Level 3 PTLLS teaching qualification and a Level 6 Diploma in Business Management. Currently I am studying part time towards a Masters degree.

My passion is ensuring that all children are able to access anything they need to be happy and content; whether this is an environment, a resource or individual support.  I believe that early recognition of a child's interests, abilities and needs are essential in creating the foundation for a smooth transition on to school life.

At Busy Bees Ipswich Rushmere I am dedicated to introducing Makaton signing for all babies and children (I am qualified to Level 4) and am currently (May 2015) enjoying teaching the children how to say please, thank you, good morning, good afternoon and sorry as well as signing the start letter of their name.  The Nursery parents and older siblings keep asking me how to sign new words so I will be arranging some parent training very soon!

Please come and have a look around Busy Bees Ipswich Rushmere or telephone and speak to me with any queries or questions.

Parent Partnership Group

Parent Representatives for Busy Bees at Ipswich Rushmere

Jo Tankard

My hobbies include going to the gym, swimming with my two girls and (when I get time) meeting up with friends over dinner. I enjoy a good book but can't remember the last time I was awake in the evening. I am looking forward to being part of the group experience to experience a deeper insight into how nursery functions and hopefully represent the views and opinions of other parents.

"I have 2 children at nursery, both full time from the age of 1. My husband and I both secondary school teachers so it was high Priority to find an excellent nursery, especially as it would be the main care giver to our children from a young age. Nursery has always exceeded our expectations from activities in nursery, trips in preschool and the fundraising fairs. There is a real whole family involvement and we feel that's very important."

My child Erin started at the nursery at the beginning of January 2013.I work part time as a secretary in a local structural and civil engineering company and Erin's daddy is a building surveyor, I love to travel, read , socialize but most of all I love spending time with my little family.

"Erin is our only child, she has been attending the nursery four days a week. We also attended the activity group every Monday. We have been very impressed with the care and professionalism of all staff. The handovers are always informative and Erin's baby diary is brilliant. I look forward to reading it, especially the 'special moment' bit. I can't praise all of the girls who work in the baby room enough. They are all lovely and I always feel reassured and happy when I leave Erin."
