Vicar Water’s Outstanding Day Nursery
Mansfield Vicar Water Day Nursery and Preschool is proud to offer an outstanding childcare provision, as rated by Ofsted.
Set back from the main Mansfield Road our homely, converted nursery plays second home to children aged 12 weeks up to 5 years.
Here at Mansfield Vicar Water we have recently had a fantastic refurbishment both indoors and outdoors. Our garden has been transformed into an magneficiant area for children to learn and play outside, with the garden being a huge highlight for our exisiting parents. We are also a forest school for Pre-School children meaning there is even more enjoyment and learning to be had outdoors, here at Mansfield Vicar Water Busy Bees.
Most of our parents come from nearby residential estates but those travelling can make use of Mansfield Woodhouse train station, a short ten minute drive away and with East Midlands Train services through to Nottingham. There are bus stops outside the nursery on either side of the road with local routes and the main bus terminal is located in Mansfield, approximately 10-15 minutes by car.
The nursery has good parking facilities with 5 free private parking spaces directly outside the nursery and a further 5 shared with local premises.
Top 10 East Midlands Nursery
Busy Bees Mansfield Vicar Water Day Nursery and preschool is proud to have received a Top 10 East Midlands Nursery accolade in 2015 from leading independent nursery reviews website, daynurseries.co.uk
Our outstanding childcare team takes an individual approach to each and every child, monitoring their progress and development in line with the EYFS statutory framework. A combination of child-led and creative play helps to maximise the potential of each and every child in our care.
We deliver a programme of stimulating and exciting activities from messy play, sensory play, home corner and role play to the pre-school staples of phonics, literacy and writing, and elemental mathematics – we’ve got every age and stage of childcare covered.
Links with Local Schools
We have strong links with local schools with regular communication between teaching staff and our childcare team. This helps to prepare our preschool children for the next step in their learning journey – ‘big school’. Our preschool children tend to go on to Samuel Barlow Primary School, Clipstone, Holly Primary School, Mansfield, and Forest Town Primary School, Mansfield.
Out and About in The Community
An important part of learning is understanding the world around us. That’s why you’ll find the Busy Bees Team and children from our Vicar Water Nursery and Preschool out and about in the community. We enjoy walks to local parks where we indulge in mud-splashing, pond-dipping and forest-school education – learning all about nature and our environment. The children love our nature walks and visits to local farms and we also visit the local library for a spot of story-time and the church too.
