Director

Lisa Spicer

Hi my name is Lisa Spicer and I am the Centre Director here at Busy Bees at Stevenage College.

Myself and Joanne Knight both manage the nursery through out the week. We both work closely together ensuring that the parents, children and staff have consistency. We are both passionate childcare professionals who believe that the first five years are very important in setting the foundations for each and every child's future.

We are very proud to have a dedicated long standing staff team who share our passion to deliver high quality childcare to all of the children.

We have seen many families come through the nursery and it is very rewarding to see how the children grow into confident individuals ready for their next chapter of life. Many children who have left often pop back in to see us which is lovely to know that we have created a fond memory for them.

I started my childcare career in 1993 after completing my NNEB qualification. I have worked at the nursery since 1997 and became the nursery manager in 2002. It is an amazing experience to see children develop through the milestones and move up into new age groups and then go on to school. We play such a big part in their life and I enjoy being a part of that.

I am also a mum of two boys who both attended Busy Bees and I can relate with the parents about how they feel when leaving their children in nursery. It is a big step and I can understand the anxiety that parents feel when they leave for work of a morning.
