Why You Will Love Our Nursery

Busy Bees Day Nursery in Worcester is a purpose built two storey building conveniently situated off Junction 6 (M5) located next to Tesco Express.

The nursery caters for children from 3 months to 5 years and has bright, spacious, age appropriate base rooms as well as baby sensory garden and pre-school woodland forest sensory area.

We have a chef onsite who has been at the nursery since we opened in 1998. Mandy prepares delicious, nutritious meals for the children and can cater for any specific dietary requirement. We were awarded 5 stars in our EHO inspection in February 2013.

Meet the Team

Shelley Southall

Nursery Manager

Hi, I'm Shelley and I am the Nursery Manager here at Busy Bees in Worcester. I have worked at the nursery since 2001 and have a son who attends the nursery.

I have attended many training courses over the years, with Busy Bees and the Local Authority, these include Safeguarding, Behaviour Management, First Aid at Work and I have my NVQ level 3 qualifications.

I absolutely love my job - every day is different, every child is unique and being part of their growth and development is a real pleasure.

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Busy Bees soon.

Kerry Arrow
Assistant Manager

I am the Assistant Manager at Worcester and started with Busy Bees in 2003. I am also the Senior Room Manager in the Baby Room and also the Assistant Senco Officer and Childcare Representative for the nursery. I bring with me a wealth of experience and am keen to attend training courses to enhance my professional practice. I complete staff observations and maintain our nursery continuous provision plan.

Financial Administrator

Ive been at the nursery since 2007. My role involves me supporting and providing administrative support to the nursery manager. My daily job entails managing the financial systems within the nursery setting. I am able to help with any financial queries, voucher enquiries or answer any questions you may have about the Nursery Education Funding (NEF). I am happy to respond in person, via email or by phone. I look forward to seeing you soon and welcoming your child into nursery.

Senior Room Manager

I've been at Busy Bees since 2003. I am the Senior Room Manager of Pre-School. I enjoy my job immensely and love to watch how the children grow and develop in the Pre-School room until they are ready for their transition into reception at school.

Jodie Heywood
Senior Room Manager

I am the Senior Room Manager in the Toddler Room and I have been at the nursery since March 2012 and love my job. I enjoy planning art activities for the children and we enjoy getting messy and creating masterpieces! We offer fun and varied activties within the toddler room and we take advantage of this on a daily basis. I am also the Student Co-ordinator at the setting which means I plan student placements, support students whilst here and liaise with colleges/universities.

Sophie Constantinou
Room Manager

I'm the Room Manager in Pre-school and have been at the Nursery since 2003. I have worked in all the rooms and have a sound knowledge of the EYFS. I speak Greek and Cypriot and enjoy teaching the children about values and customs. I manage the Pre-school room in partnership with my Senior Room Manager and enjoy planning cooking activities for the children. We have made Olive bread, potato salad, fairy cakes, cookies and lots more and the best bit is....the children get to take them home

Lisa Arme
Room Manager

I have worked for Busy Bees for over seven years but originally worked at Derby Oakwood Nursery. I transferred to the Worcester Nursery in February 2012 where I took up the position of the Room Manager in Babies. I oversee the running of the room in the Senior Room Managers absence. I will sit and chat with you on your child's settle session and help you and your child with their smooth transition into nursery. In my spare time I like going shopping, cooking and going to the cinema.

Lisa Thomson
Room Manager

I have worked at the nursery since 2003. I am currently the Room Manager of Babies. My role involes me running the Room in partnership with my Senior Room Manager. I plan varied art/craft activities each week and enjoy creating textured/3-D displays for the children to use and feel. I am also the Health and Safety Co-ordinator for the setting which involves managing various health and safety systems and carrying out regular fire evacations with the children and staff team.

Mandy Taylor
Chef

Mandy (Left) I started at the nursery the first day it opened, so I have seen many positive changes over the years. I oversee the planning of our superb home cooked, freshly prepared meals. I enjoy going into the base rooms with the children and teaching them about healthy food choices and promoting a healthy diet.

I joined the team in Worcester 2013. I assist Mandy the nursery chef in preparing home made nutritionally balanced cooked meals. Prior to that I was a Kitchen Assisant working with the Fire Brigade.

Early Years Educator

I started at the nursery in September 2011 when I began my level 2 qualification in childcare. I have successfuly completed my Level 3 childcare qualification. I'm enjoying planning activities for the children in my care, the messier-the better! We love getting the gloop, sand and water out and experiencing new textures. I'm currently at university studying Education Studies.

Hi. I joined Busy Bees in 2013. I bring with me a range of experiences and work in the First Steps Room. I also have experience in working with school age children too. Within the First Steps Room I aim to make the children feel at home and respect all their contributions and values that they bring with them.

I joined Busy Bees in 2014 and work in the Baby Room. I have lots of experience in caring for babies and recently gained my 'Working with Babies' certificate which was a course ran by the local council and a requirement for OFSTED. I enjoy doing creative activities with the children and planning activities using varied resources for outdoor learning.

I joined Busy Bees in 2014 and have worked at other nurseries in the past. I work in the Tiny Baby Room and like nothing more than having cuddles on our sofa. I have a genuine committment to my keyperson role and will strive to provide the highest care for your child.

Hi. I joined Busy Bees in 2013 and a bring with me a range of experiences. I have worked in other nurseries and also used to work for a agency.I enjoy putting up up displays for the children to use as a learning resource. I also complete two year checks for my key children and take an interest in children who have speech and communication difficulties.

I joined Busy Bees in 2014 and hold a Level 5 HND Advance Practice in Working with Families and Children. I have worked in several nurseries but really enjoying the challenge in working in a big pre-school. I plan small group activities for my key children's interests. In my spare time I enjoy being with friends and family and shopping.

Ive been at the nursery for over five years and both my children have attended the setting. I have worked in all the rooms and at the moment I'm based within the Pre-School Room. Im helping to prepare all my key children for their transition into Reception Class.

I joined Busy Bees in 2015 but have worked in several other settings. I am qualified to Level 3 and based within the Toddler Room. I enjoy being outdoors with the children. I have a little boy who also attends the nursery.

Helen Heron
Room Team

I've been at the Nursery for over ten years. I assist the SENCO team which means that I will support your child if they are in need of a little 'extra' support or if there is an identified 'additional need'. I have attended several courses including Code of Practice, Planning for children with SEN and the role of the SENCO. I currently work most days in the pre-school room but have experience in working in all the rooms.

Ive been at the nursery for over two years. I have nearly completed by Degree in Performing Arts which I have been studying at the University of Gloucester. My job role involves me working in all the rooms so I have to be able to build a rapport with the children in my care. In my spare time I like clothes shopping, dancing and performing in theatre shows.

Room Team

I work at Busy Bees as a Lunchtime Assistant. I have worked at the nursery since 2007. My daily responsibilities include setting up the lunch room areas, serving the food to the children and clearing away the mess afterwards! I enjoy sitting with the children and encouraging good manners and social interaction during mealtimes. After lunch I help set up the playground areas for outdoor play and games.
