At Kindercare York Day Nursery and Preschool we absolutely love to play, create and educate together.
We know how important your child’s safety, development and preschool education is to you. That’s why every child at Kindercare York is assigned their very own key carer to ensure that we can provide you and your little ones with continuous assessment and the very best in quality childcare.
Kindercare York Day Nursery and Preschool, part of the Treetops Nurseries Family, is conveniently situated on the main Heworth Road, just under a mile from the city centre. Many of our parents walk into town after drop-off but we are conveniently located on main bus routes with services into York city centre. Our nursery also enjoys a private car park for our parents.
Our near city centre location places us within easy reach of York Train Station and many amenities plus of course York Castle and Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and the world-famous York Minster.
Our cosy two-story, converted house provides a warm and welcoming environment for children aged 12 weeks to 5 years.
The passionate childcare team at Kindercare York delivers a programme of stimulating and exciting activities and experiences to maximise the potential of every child and their development.
Led by a manager with a Montessori Teaching Degree our action-packed, fun-filled rooms – designed to meet the physical, emotional and educational needs of each of our key age and stage groups, offer everything from messy and sensory play to the more structured classroom activities you’d expect to see in a preschool room.
Our baby and toddlers enjoy their open dedicated rooms and space on the ground floor and our more independent preschool children occupy the classrooms on the first floor.
Staff at Kindercare York nursery provide a supportive environment for children to play and learn and take every opportunity to teach good manners and social skills. For example, staff teach children to take turns and to share and to be respectful towards each other. As a result, older children take turns to speak and listen to each other at group discussion time.
This invaluable training means our preschool children at Kindercare York are well prepared emotionally for similar activities they will encounter at school. They learn to think about their own safety during their play and everyday routines and know to line up sensibly and with regard for others as they leave their room.
