Children and staff at Busy Bees Norwich Thorpe are celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating, following an Ofsted inspection on 10 November 2022.
The Ofsted inspector commented that the “children demonstrate positive attitudes to learning” in the nursery’s “exceptionally motivating environment”.
The nursery gained an ‘Outstanding’ in all areas, where it was also noted that children “demonstrate curiosity and pleasure as they participate in activities”.
Ofsted praised the nursery’s partnership with parents, stating that “leaders and staff are immensely dedicated to ensuring children and families are at the heart of everything they do.”
Parents report that staff are 'lovely and incredibly supportive' and that they also feel well informed about their children's progress through the Busy Bees online app.
The “nurturing and attentive” staff at the nursery were recognised for having “in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and how children learn” and the ability to “skilfully plan activities based on children's interests”, helping to ensure “children are highly motivated, and make quick and continuous progress”.
Support for children who speak English as an additional language was also praised.
Child inclusivity was also given a special mention as Ofsted highlighted that “support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is a real strength” and that “targeted intervention is provided swiftly”, which includes working “closely with parents and external professionals to put support plans in place”.
The inspection was led by Acting Centre Director, Emma Taylor, who said: “We are thrilled that our nursery has received Outstanding by Ofsted, recognising the quality of care and education that we provide.”
