A ‘nurturing and child-centred’ nursery in Great Notley, Braintree is celebrating its third ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted.

Busy Bees at Great Notley, Braintree were commended for creating an environment where ‘all children are supported to flourish’ with a ‘broad and enriching curriculum for children to learn about the world around them’.

Staff were praised for creating a ‘language-rich environment’ where ‘children are highly motivated and enthusiastic learners’ and for their ‘high-quality teaching at each stage of a child’s development’ to help children make ‘exceptional progress in their learning’.

It was noted that the children are ‘highly respectful and kind to each other’, demonstrating ‘high levels of engagement in activities that are provided for them’, 

Parent partnerships were given a special mention with parents speaking ‘extremely highly of the nursery’. Parents praised the staff team who go ‘above and beyond to care for and educate their children’, with parents feeling part of their ‘children’s learning and development’.

Centre Director Melissa Harisson and her team were recognised for having ‘excellent knowledge of their key children’.

Melissa said: “We are over the moon to receive our third Ofsted outstanding. Over the years, we have strived to create a nurturing and supportive environment where children can learn and grow, and we are so overjoyed for this to be recognised in our recent Ofsted rating.

“We are committed to providing every child with the best start in life and that is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking forward to building on our success further and working with our families to ensure they feel part of their child’s journey every step of the way.” 

The inspector commented that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are ‘expertly supported’ and staff work in ‘partnership with parents and other professionals to provide children with the targeted, specialised support they need’. 

Staff wellbeing is also a priority with the inspector commenting that they ‘feel valued and well supported’ which helps them to ‘flourish in their roles’.
