Busy Bees at East Grinstead, where children are ‘happy’ and ‘form deep bonds with staff’ is celebrating its Ofsted result following its latest inspection.
Achieving a ‘Strong Standard’ in four categories including behaviours, attitudes and establishing routines, and inclusion, the nursery team was recognised for creating ‘calm learning environments’ that stimulate children’s fascination and interests.
Across the nursery, children are ‘happy and deeply engrossed in their learning’, making secure progress in development across all areas of learning, preparing them well for their transition to school. The team has embedded consistent routines across the whole nursery, adapting activities to children’s interests, ensuring they feel ‘valued and included’.
The centre is led by Alex Peacock who brings more than 25 years of experience. Alex is supported by a longstanding team with over 100 years of experience, providing exceptional care and education for families in the local community.

The nursery’s Bee Curious curriculum received high praise, with the team using all opportunities to ensure that children benefit from an ‘impactful’ and ‘broad curriculum that supports their development in all areas of learning’. Communication and language were given a special mention, with staff using ‘language-rich dialogue’ to build on children’s communication skills including those who face barriers to learning.
Inspectors also recognised the nursery’s ‘secure partnerships’ with parents and carers, with staff working closely with parents to ensure they follow children’s home routines.
A parent whose son attends the nursery, added: "My little boy has had the very best early years experience at Busy Bees, and I am so glad we choose this setting. Alex and all his team are so kind, happy caring and warm and nurturing. You can tell that it is a lovely place to work and the team positivity shines through consistently - this has made it so much easier to leave him every day. I love seeing what my son has been doing and experiencing on the app and is a great insight into his day and during handovers. My son has been so loved and made to feel so safe in a wonderful and inspiring indoor and outdoor provision."
