Welcome to our nursery...
Busy Bees Nursery and Pre School is situated on Cardiff Gate Business Park, past the Toby Carvery on your right at the end of Greenwood Close.
The Nursery at Cardiff Gate is a purpose built day nursery, all on one level and has a number of rooms available for children of all ages.
The nursery provides an all-inclusive service for you; this service includes all freshly prepared meals, nappies and wipes.
We have a new full time fee rate, ensuring that quality childcare is more affordable for everyone.
The nursery takes children from 8 weeks to 5 years. Each age range has a dedicated room with access into the garden and a team of highly qualified practitioners to care for each individual child within a key group; each team of practitioners in each age range is lead by a room manager who is able to over see the area and ensure that the quality of care and education offered to your child is maintained.
We pride ourselves on supporting the transition of your child from home to nursery, each child is individual and we provide bespoke settling in sessions tailored to yours and your child’s needs.
We have two large separate age appropriate secure gardens for the children to explore and to extend their learning.
The nursery has bespoke rooms created for specific age ranges, this ensures your child is in an area with children who are developmentally similar to them and also has equipment tailored to their needs. We take care to provide environments that are homely for the children and nurture their emotional needs as well as their broader development.
Our rooms are –
Caterpillars – This area is made up of 2 rooms for our youngest children and consists of stimulating areas for the children to explore and use. The area has a specific black and white and lilac area for our youngest children to ensure the children are stimulated from this early age.
We have Busy Babies which uses everyday objects in high contrasting tones to encourage babies to reach and explore. Areas rich in high quality displays are necessary to promote babies visual and physical development.
Beetles - This area is made up of 2 rooms for our children aged 13 months to 17 months. This room consists of stimulating areas for the children to explore and use with free flow access into the large garden to enhance their mobility and explore new surroundings.
Butterflies - This area is made up of 2 rooms for our children aged 18 months to 24 months. This is where the children become more confident on their feet and have increased mobility and ready to explore the world at this new exciting level. These rooms have direct access into the large garden and a free flow system is used.
Ladybirds and Bumble bees are 2 separate rooms for children aged 2 to 2 and a half and 2 and a half to 3 years old.
The over twos room in the nursery is a spacious and happy environment that helps children build on their feelings of independence and self-esteem. Each spacious room offers messy play, creativity, construction, imagination, physical play, mark-making, a book area and much more. Social skills will be encouraged to share and take turns with others.
We have Wake and Shake which is a dance activity for children 2-5 years, this is a daily activity that is fun and enhances child development.
Pre School – This area is made up of 2 rooms for our oldest children aged from 3 years to 5 years. Helen the Assistant Manager is the Qualified Teacher based in the room with Cathryn who is also the part time Assistant Manager and a Qualified Teacher. We support the children’s learning and development through the Early Years Foundation Phase, set out by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Shake and Write is a daily activity where children aged 3+ get to use their fine motor skills whilst listening and engaging in musical story.
Throughout the age groups continuous provision of sand, water, malleable play, creativity, construction, imagination, physical play, mark-making, a book area and much more are available daily as well as ICT area to support the children in the early years.
At Busy Bees the children have not only their focused activities but also a variety of exclusive initiatives created by Busy Bees.
We have now launched Babble to Chatter to all of the age groups in the nursery which promotes and encourages speech/language, expressive language, play and interaction.
Each member of our team is a key worker and someone who you and your child will be linked with whilst they are with us. The key workers provide the children with their very important emotional attachment whilst they are at nursery, they get to know your children very well and use this knowledge to ensure their learning and development grows.
We have a fantastic and dedicated team of staff at the nursery led by a strong management team; take a look at our 'Meet the Team' section. We are extremely proud that we have a low turnover of staff; some of the team has been at the nursery for 10 years or more. We promote further development of the team and support them to gain higher qualifications and attend training sessions.
We have an onsite chef and an assistant chef who cater all meals and are freshly prepared and cooked each day on the premises for the children. This ensures that their nutritional needs are catered for whilst they are with us. All produce used is fresh and seasonal, with a varied variety of foods to encourage and develop taste buds. Each room has a drinks station; this ensures all children have access to water when they need it.
As well as the children in our care we enjoy getting to know the whole family and provide lots of activities for you all to join in with. We have themed and craft days in the nursery as well as stay and play sessions and some fun days on weekends to ensure you can all join in – we usually support a charity over the course of the year and any funds we raise at these days all go towards very worth while causes
So why not come along and see what we can offer you and your child as well as our fantastic facilities.
