Why You Will Love Our Nursery

Busy Bees in Chafford Hundred provides GOOD childcare, as reported by Ofsted, (2013).

Busy Bees Chafford Hundred is a children's day nursery situated underneath Bannatynes Health Club, just a 5 minute walk to Chafford railway station which is on the main line to London Fenchurch Street.

We are an established nursery and have been open for 15 years.

We have a great team that have worked together over many years which helps consistency throughout the nursery.

We recently set up our parent partnership group with 5 of our parents, where we have meetings and plan events which involved the whole nursery. This is also a great way of new parents getting a view of the nursery from already established parents.

We have 6 rooms in total in our nursery, we are very fortunate in being able to offer the children free flow into the garden from every room and take full advantage of this.

Bumbles

Our baby room is for our 6 weeks to 1 year old babies/ We initiated the busy baby's incentive earlier this year, we have a black and white area which research has shown is stimulating for the babies with the contrasting colours, where the lilac area is calm and relaxing.

Ladybirds

Our 12-18 month old room - A  large room with lots of light and space. We also have a separate garden enabling babies to free flow inside and out as they wish, we also have a large sensory are for babies to rest.

Caterpillars

Our 18 months to 2 years room - We have 2 integrated rooms and a garden where the children free flow into the different areas, separate and messy play rooms, with staff encouraging self selection this gives the children choices and encourages independence at a young age.
A bright and airy space with the children's work on display in every room.

Butterflies ]

Our 2-2.5 year old room - This room has it's own access to the garden area, enabling free flow, giving the children freedom of choice.

Children are becoming more independent in this room, staff encourage this by working with parents on things such as potty training.
Our Butterflies also get a chance to interact with pre school in the garden, which prepare them for the transition into that room.

Dragonflies

Our pre school room for children age 2.5-5 years - A very large room where we can take up to 40 children, which prepares the children for school.
The designated learning area, free flow into the garden area, a great team of 7 staff who plan individually for your children and extend there learning, help to achieve t he many attributes our pre school room can off to assist your childs development in preparation for school.

Meet the Team

Fleur Jones-Mannix

Nursery Manager

My name is Fleur Jones-Mannix and I’m the nursery manager for Chafford 100.

I Have an NVQ 4 in early year’s management, and have been in childcare since I left school.
I’ve managed the nursery since March 1999 and I’ve seen it grow from strength to strength, there is no other job I would rather be in.

We pride ourselves on our partnership with parents, and seeing the children progress through the nursery and graduate for school gives a great sense of achievement and is a very rewarding experience for us and the children.
I manage a strong team of 26 staff, all of whom are qualified and experienced in childcare, some of the team have been with me for over 10 years.
No day is the same, and every day brings new challenges and experiences for us to grow from.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, which includes 2 west highland terriers Taffy and Elvis.

I enjoy swimming, and listening to music, I also love Disney.

Kim Stonehill

I am Kim Stonehill and I have two daughters Emily two and half and Megan seven months. I am a Claims Manager for an International Insurance Company. Both my children are in nursery full time. Making the decision to return to work after having my first child, Emily was one of the hardest. I researched all the childcare options available and my husband and I agreed on Busy Bees, Grays by Bannatynes. We liked the staff and professional atmosphere of the place.

"Nevertheless the guilt I felt by leaving Emily was immense. There were many questions, was I making the right decision? Was this right for her? Am I selfish? Very quickly it become obvious that Emily loved attending nursery and strong bonds were forming with the staff. My guilt started to subside. She has now been at full time nursery for 18 months and in this time she has become a very confident and independent child. She has a close circle of friends and her personal and academic achievements"

Sam Field

Hi, My name is Sam Field and I am a Building Surveyor. My first experience of Fleur and her team was when my daughter attended in the fall of 2008 when she was year old. Emily really enjoyed her time at nursery and because of the great start she had she has become a very sociable and hard working little girl and enjoys school and many other aspects of life. When Fleur asked me to undertake this role I considered it for a week or so, eventually I said YES because I want to be able to assist in steering the nursery in the right direction and to answer any queries that you may have, so please do feel free to approach me or send me an email.

"When our son Jake was born we always knew that he would be attending a nursery. At first we were a little apprehensive about coming back as the nursery had been acquired by Busy Bees and we were concerned that the concept had changed. To our delight we found that although the name had changed the energy and professionalism that Fleur and her team have had not. Jake, like his sister started attending when he was a year old. He has become a very cheeky little chap and his character and social skills have come on leaps and bounds since he started in March 2014. This said, and I am sure Fleur and her team will concur; I do not always agree with the policies or how certain situations are managed but at the end of the day I feel comfortable enough to be able to discuss my views with Fleur and her team. We may not always agree with the each other but we still have a laugh and joke"
