Meet the Team

Helen Burton & Rebecca Wall

Nursery Manager

My name is Helen and I am a long standing member of the team. I started at the nursery when it first opened in 2003 as a Nursery Nurse after qualifying from college with my CACHE Diploma In Childcare & Education (level 3). I have seen the nursery grow and develop over the years and worked my way up the promotional ladder to get where I am today.

I also hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Early Childhood Studies and also what is more commonly known now as Early Years Teacher Status (EYT). I have also completed courses in Senco training, First Aid at Work, paediatric first aid and Food Hygiene and my level 5 in Leadership and Management.

I have always been passionate about my job. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing children achieve and grown as they develop their own little personalities. I like to ensure that this is at the forefront of what I do and that this passion can be embedded into the strong staff team that we have here at Guiseley, to ensure that children are highly cared for and given as many learning opportunities as possible.

I also pride myself on communication and partnership with parents, some of which I have know for some years as they have had older children that have come through the nursery.

I am a full time working mum, my son attended the nursery and started school in September 2016. This has been a great foundation for his learning and development. The things I have seen him achieve are amazing and I hope this continues for our current and new parents as we welcome them to Busy Bees. Nursery life is a great platform for young children’s development and well-being.

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I work opposite Helen, managing the nursery on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  I have been a manager with Busy Bees for 11 years and hold a level 4 qualification in Early Years and a degree in Business Management. Before I was manager at Guiseley, I worked at our Leeds Colton Mill site as a Business Manager for 7 years.

I have two children of my own, a girl now in year two at Primary School (who used to attend here) and a baby boy, who currently attends this nursery.

I find my job very rewarding and Helen and I work well as a team to ensure the best possible care and outcomes for all the children here at Guiseley.

Hi, We are the Sunflowers team! We support the eldest children of the nursery with their transition to school, following a Preschool Project every Summer. We know how important it is to help support children with their 'school readiness', from being able to dress themselves and learning to use the toilet without assistance,to a good understanding of the values of sharing and turn taking. We focus on these plus the educational elements of the curriculum to ensure the best start for every child.

Hello, we are the Daffodils team and we look after the toddlers, supporting them with their emerging physical development, communication and language and personal, social and emotional development. We ensure the children feel secure here in all senses. Our troop love the outdoors and everything we do indoors we like to take outside too. We have direct access to the garden and so this makes free flow playtime easy and fun, allowing the children choice about where as well as how to play
