Busy Bees Leeds Guiseley nursery over the moon with third consecutive Outstanding Ofsted

Busy Bees Nursery at Leeds Guiseley where ‘children build strong bonds with the staff’ are celebrating after receiving their third ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted.

The nursery, located on Park Road, was praised for placing ‘children at the heart of everything they do’ and providing high-quality interactions for the children, with children showing ‘very high levels of engagement’.

The nursery, which places its Bee Curious curriculum at the forefront of its learning, was recognised for ‘placing a strong focus on expanding children’s vocabulary and supporting children to learn about a book, rhyme and word of the moment’. There are also ‘repeated opportunities and experiences for children to revisit and repeat new knowledge and vocabulary’ including access to a lending library. 

The report highlighted that the ‘dedicated’ team carry out regular progress checks on children, which helps staff to ‘identify what children need to learn next’ or if a child may have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They also ensure that education and health plans of children with SEND are successfully integrated in the learning environment.

Busy Bees Leeds Guiseley was commended for ‘providing excellent opportunities to promote children’s physical development and good health’, with staff creating an ‘exceptionally calming and safe outdoor environment’.

Parent partnerships were also given a special mention, with parents feeling overwhelmingly ‘appreciative of the care and support given to their children’ and commenting that ‘staff meet children’s needs exceptionally well’.
