Just Learning in Beford Elstow provides GOOD childcare, as reported by Ofsted, (2013). Just Learning Bedford is a children’s day nursery situated within quiet surroundings in Progress Park, Elstow, alongside the Park and Ride. We are easily accessible from the A6 and the A421. We have a large private car park to ensure your child can be dropped off safely.
The nursery is purpose built and has access from the rooms into a spacious secure, stimulating outdoor area. All rooms are furnished and resourced age appropriately to ensure we are offering an exciting and stimulating environment to enhance opportunities for our children.
We provide a friendly and welcoming environment where our children and families feel safe and part of our nursery family. We ensure activities are offered for all the family by having Mother’s/Fathers Day breakfast, Christmas family fun day, open days and recently Busy Bees 30th Birthday Party.
We have a happy and motivated staff team of which most are qualified to a Level 3 or above. Our staff attend further training to keep up to date with current legislation and to develop their future skills.
We follow the Early years Foundation stage. There is a strong emphasis on practical investigation and active learning through play, both in the play rooms and outdoors, carefully planned to develop children's individual skills and understanding. We promote inclusive practise and encourage children to be independent and make choices.
As a team we are passionate about providing stimulating learning opportunities, each child’s learning journal shows their current interests and achievements with photos and observations which promote the developmental stages and interest of each individual child.
Hello my name is Sara Vobe and I am the Nursery Manager for Bedford Elstow.
I have over 25 years experience in childcare, firstly as a mum of two wonderful daughters. Whilst my daughters were young I became a registered childminder and during this time I achieved my NVQ 3 in childcare and education. I applied for a position within our local community Pre-School as an assistant and within 6 months I was offered the Pre-School Manager position. After four fantastic years the Pre-School Turned into a Phase One Children’s Centre, my position became redundant and it was then that I applied for the Nursery Managers position and was successful and remained there for several years, during which time I achieved my Early Years Sector Endorsed Foundation Degree in July 2008.
In March 2010 I joined Bedford Elstow and have seen the nursery team and opportunities for children and families grow.
We aim to offer a high standard of care and education where each child as an individual can achieve their Goals!
My motto is ‘Reach for the sky and be the star that you are’
During my spare time I like to spend time with my family. I like walking around the marina with my dog. Going on holidays in the sunshine and gardening.
"When Ryan started Nursery i was more nervous than he was the first few days but the support and advice i received from the the nursery staff made the transition much easier. Nursery was definatley the best option for Ryan. The wide variety of activities and toys keep him busy, engaged and allows him to run his energy off. Ryan loves the food at nursery and even eats better than me! If you have any concerns or questions about sending your child to nursery, i will be more than happy to help."
"When i decided to return to work i visited 4 different nurseries across Bedford, but there was something that kept drawing me back to Busy Bee's Bedford Elstow. The staff were friendly and professional, the children i saw looked happy and engaged, the outdoor space was amazing. The team constanly look for ways to enthral the children at all ages, from new toys in the lower groups, to pumpkin growing for the older groups! It would be great to build up a parent network for the children who attend."
"Both Zak's key workers have really got to know him as a little person and i am very grateful for that. Should you wish to talk about anything regarding nursery, please feel free to come and have a chat!"
"The setting combines caring with education by following appropriate cirriculum and as the nursery believes that learning should be stimulatling and fun; he seems to thrive on this warm and caring approach and hopefully is preparing him for starting " Big Boy School" ( his words) next year! Alfie Loves the food that he has at nursery and eats it all even seconds some days! ( think he actually prefers their food to mine!!) I believe a good parent relationship is key with all settings."
