Welcome to our nursery...
Busy Bees in Norwich provides GOOD childcare, as reported by Ofsted, April 2014. The Nursery is a purpose built day nursery, located within the grounds of the Norfolk and Norwich hospital and is easily accessible via public transport. We have our own car parking facilities to make it easier for parents to drop off and collect their child.
The nursery has 7 bright and airy rooms:
Buttercups - 2 months - 1 year
Bluebells -10 months - 1 year 5 months
Snowdrops and Sunflowers - 1 year 3 months - 2 years
Little Acorns - 2 years - 2 years 6 months
Grasshoppers - 2 years to 3 years
Oaktrees - 3 years to 5 years
All rooms have age appropriate resources which are stored at a level accessible to all children. We also have 3 separate and secure outdoor areas
Our team of dedicated and passionate staff offer a variety of stimulating activities which are based around the individual child’s interests.
Staff scaffold the child’s learning, promoting sustained shared thinking. Some of the activities are adult led however the majority are led by the individual child.
Our pre-school children enjoy taking part in many cooking activities as part of our ‘cooking with me’ initiative where they can use and explore the produce they have grown themselves in the nursery garden. The initiative encourages the children to start cooking from an early age. This will promote and develop skills such as time, measuring, counting and weighing.
For toddlers under 2 years, we provide a block play initiative. This can help develop a child’s confidence and independent thinking, developing many areas of learning including mathematics, communication and motor skills such as lifting, stacking and balancing.
All rooms downstairs have direct access to garden areas which have been designed specifically to enhance children’s play, encouraging them to explore and investigate.
We work closely with our parents maintaining and promoting their involvement via a parent partnership group. We offer stay and play sessions to all our families and encourage them to be involved in their child’s learning.
All our meals are home cooked and are nutritionally balanced and healthy. We provide food to meet all cultural and dietary requirements. Our menu’s consist of fresh seasonal ingredients using no salt, minimal sugar and no additives. We are very proud of achieving a 5 star rating for our food hygiene from South Norfolk District Council.
